- Anza-Borrego Desert State Park &
Visitor 's Center:
- About 1/4 mile west of Palm Canyon Resortr.This
unique underground building houses a theater,
bookstore, and museum, as well as world renowned
paleontology and geology laboratories.
- Palm Canyon Palm Grove Hike:
- This hike is the most popular for visitors.
It is about 1.5 miles of moderate hiking to
one of the few natural palm groves in North
America. There are over 1,000 native fan palms
in the grove and a stream and waterfall greet
you at trails end.
- Coyote Canyon:
- Subject to Summer closures for the protection
of the Bighorn Sheep population, Coyote Canyon
is truly one of the great attractions of the
Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.May require 4-WD
vehicle
- Fonts Point
- Four-mile off-road adventure to the "Grand
Canyon of Borrego." 4-WD is required. the
entire valley. South over the badlands to Mexico,
east to the Salton Sea, north to the Santa Rosa's,
and west over Borrego Springs.The best place
in North America to view sediments of the Pliocene
and Pleistocene Epochs
- Split Mountain/Fish Creek/Sandstone
Canyon:
- Elephant Trees nature walk and road to the
pale ontological bonanza of Split Mountain.

- Blair Valley Pictographs & Morteros:
- Evidence of past Indian habitation
- Calcite Mine Area/Slot Canyons:
- S-22 east, toward Salton Sea. Park on the
left about 1/4 mile west of the microwave tower.
Hike down into the wash and turn left. This
entire area is filled with interesting canyons
and washes to explore.
- Hell Hole Canyon:
